April 28, 2012, is the last day the bricks and mortar retail store, Cool Stuff, will be open on this Earth.

Our hope is that this area will serve as a memorial to the great friends and great times that have interacted with Cool Stuff through the years.  The passing of Cool Stuff into the annals of downtown Columbia’s history, will undoubtedly have an effect on a great many people.  Please share your remembrances on this page so that a “living” record of a soon-to-be bygone era will be created and preserved for the future.

I still remember leaving from St. Louis to come to Columbia, and all my friends would ask me to buy them something from Cool Stuff … thanks for being such a big part of what Columbia is today!

“Hallie Galvin bought a brass knuckles mug from Cool Stuff, 808 E. Broadway, for her mother a few months ago. Now Galvin said it’s a little more precious to her because the iconic store on Broadway is closing.

Housewives everywhere are tucking away their ninja breadmen for safekeeping, and the many owners of squirrel underpants are putting the tiny briefs at the back of their drawers as Cool Stuff shuts its doors this April.”

“I’m not a one trick pony,” Fagan said. “My best accomplishments and my best days are still ahead of me.”

Broadway, Columbia, will never be the same! Arnie is closing his Cool Stuff Store! The color, the drama, the uniqueness–all going, all gone. “Arnie making his last stand”. Shake in your boots! He’s my Poster Hero!

Cool Stuff is Gone, Gone, Gone! Great while it Lasted!

Yes, Cool Stuff was a great store, brightening up downtown. Gave Arnie a place to bring home many fascinating objects, trophies , and glamorous what-not. Could Arnie be settling down to be just another business man? No, that would never happen!
